One of our clients based in La Chaux-de-Fonds has been subject to a business separation which lead to the opportunity to build a new finance organization. We are looking for a senior accountant Temporary Role for 4 months assignment


Principal Accountabilities:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual closure of the accounts to a professional standard, with regard to speed, accuracy and documentation of closure:
o Responsible for various IFRS entries (ensuring that the accounting is done in a timely and accurate manner)
o Responsible for preparation of various Balance Sheet reconciliations
o Support during monthly reviews and analysis of the Balance Sheet and P&L accounts
o Monthly Accounting Processes & Balance Sheet Integrity
• Processing of Treasury / Payments / financial transactions:
o External and intercompany loans processing, equity funding, prepare payments, booking of bank movements and bank reconciliations;
o Ensure that the organisation has the required cash levels to meet payments requirements at all times
o Follow-up on all payment requests received by the organisation: preparing payment documentation, processing the payments, keeping stakeholders informed and ensuring proper filing
• CAPEX transactions processing (intangible & fixed assets),
• Participate in SAP implementation of certain financial modules (P2P, C2C, Inventory, etc);
• Assist HoF during statutory accounts preparation and/or external audits
• Assist in numerous projects and any ad-hoc requests
• Participate to system enhancement
• Identify & implement with the Head of Finance & IT potential development allowing more efficiency in accounting & controlling.
• Be able to proactively create new accounting processes and improve existing one. Be able to communicate and share information with management and be a source of proposal.
• Other accounting and administrative tasks as required.

Experience required:

• Proven accounting experience (between 5 and 7 years)
• Very good knowledge of IFRS standards and swiss accounting.
• Chartered Specialist in Accounting and Financial Management, Federal Diploma of Higher Education (Spécialiste en finance et comptabilité avec brevet fédéral)
• Needs to be fluent in English (C1) and good understanding of French (B2)
• Strong knowledge of SAP
• Must have excellent communication skills: must be able to work with all levels within the organization, across functional and cultural boundaries, partnering effectively with colleagues in remote locations.
• Capability in multi-tasking, including prioritization of work and management / organization of time, deadline oriented
• Must be organized, precise, dynamic and have a strong team spirit.

Reporting to the Head of Finance and Administration, the Senior Accountant will assist during the transition of the Swiss businesses' separation from our client.
