Research Assistant CE/ASM Research Biology - temp. employment for 6 months, 100%


  • Carry out experiments with crop plants with high accuracy and with moderate supervision in the lab, climate chamber and greenhouse
  • Perform experiments using state of the art chemical application and plant phenotyping systems
  • Actively support the cultivation of plants together with a team of gardeners
  • Capturing and reporting of plant phenotypic data
  • Ensure good safety behavior for yourself and others
  • Communicate and work closely with team members


  • Ensures that all operations comply with HSE policies
  • Openness to new ideas and technology and able to proactively make proposals for improvements, record and communicate them, share knowledge and best practice
  • Communicates any issues immediately

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

  • Practical experience in plant cultivation and phenotyping
  • Familiarity with glasshouse and climate chamber working environments (laboratory is a plus)
  • Knowledge / interest in plant biology (preferentially crop physiology and abiotic stress tolerance)
  • Able to communicate in English and German at a proficient level
  • Able to work with moderate supervision as well as part of a team
  • Basic software skills (MS-Office)
  • Able to conduct routine work (pot filling, pot weighing, sowing, watering, harvesting etc.)
  • Physical fitness to conduct experiments, e.g. ability to handle heavy plant pots
