Research Assistant CE/ASM Research Biology - temp. employment for 3 months, 100%


  • Carry out plant experiments with crop plants with high accuracy and with moderate supervision in the field, GH and CC for Crop Enhancement / Abiotic Stress Management Research Biology
  • Organize and actively support the cultivation,care and maintenance of plants in the field and controlled environments (CC&GH)
  • Perform experiments using state of the art chemical application and plant phenotyping systems
  • Capturing, analyzing and reporting of plant phenotype data related to abiotic stress mitigation
  • Support routine work within the CE/ASM team
  • Ensure good safety behavior for yourself and others in the team
  • Communicate and work closely with the CE/ASM team members, peers and experiment requesters


  • Ensures that all operations comply with HSE policies
  • Openness to new ideas and technology and able to proactively make proposals for improvements, record and communicate them, share knowledge and best practice
  • Communicates any issues immediately

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

  • Apprenticeship in Agrobiology or other technical discipline / BSc in agrobiology disciplines or equivalent professional education
  • Practical experience in plant cultivation, care, maintenance and phenotyping
  • Familiarity with field, glasshouse and climate chamber working environments
  • Knowledge / interest in plant biology (preferentially crop physiology and abiotic stress tolerance)
  • Able to communicate in English and German at a proficient level
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Basic software skills (MS-Office)
  • Accepts and copes well with routine work that is part of the job profile (sowing, watering, fertilizing, harvesting, measuring etc.)
  • Physical fitness to conduct experiments in the field
