Entomology Research Scientist - temporary assignment for 6 months starting September 1st, 2022

Your challenges

  • To provide the scientific and technical expertise required to design and perform studies that inform about the bioavailability of novel agrochemicals in arthropods and plants.
  • Enthusiasm in performing in-vitro, in-vivo and analytical chemistry studies in plants and insects.
  • Participate in cross-disciplinary projects, working with colleagues from other disciplines, conducting studies and coordinating the delivery to meet project needs.
  • To review and develop protocols or implement technology related to the study of ADME of active ingredients used in crop protection.
  • Plan studies, analyze data and present conclusions in detailed reports and presentations
  • To execute experiments that inform about the bioavailability of agrochemicals in arthropod pests and plants at different time points
  • Develop and apply state-of-the-art experimental procedures for in-vitro and in-vivo ADME studies.
  • Play a proactive role in identifying, solving, and managing complex technical issues or challenges.
  • Analyze data and draw conclusions to support decision making.
  • Apply critical thinking.
  • Manage day to day expectations of cross-functional stakeholders.


Your skills

  • A laboratory technician EFZ in Biology/Chemistry, a MSc in Biochemistry, Entomology or Chemistry.
  • Professional experience working in a laboratory in the field of entomology, agronomy, or crop protection.
  • Ideally, experience in insect/plant biochemistry, insect/plant metabolism and/or analytical Chemistry (e.g. Mass Spectrometry).
  • Ideally, experience in the study of ADME of active ingredients.
  • Effective scientific writing, verbal communication, and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with handling large data sets, data storage, reporting analysis, and visualization tools.
  • Fluency in English, German considered as a plus.
